Following Reverend Chris Rankine’s announcement of his move to the London Diocese, the Rural Dean, the Reverend Canon John Harkin, will be holding an Open Meeting at St Mary’s, Andover at 7.30 pm on Monday 9 September to discuss the most effective way of moving the Portway and Danebury Benefice forward.
All interested members of the congregations of the former benefice of Amport, Grateley, Monxton and Quarley are invited to this meeting, which will also be open to the congregations of the rest of the Team and will be attended by the Archdeacon, the Venerable Michael Harley. This will be the one opportunity for your views to be heard and considered before the Archdeacon meets with the PCCs a few weeks later to consider the Benefice Profile and Role Description.
As John Harkin has said that it would be helpful if we could provide corporate, rather than individual, preferences, the Church Wardens of the four parishes would be very glad to hear from as many people as possible what they would like for the future of our churches.
