Refugee Crisis Donation Station

Our fete donation station in the bus shelter outside Amport School has been re-purposed to be a donation station for the refugee crisis. We are asking for donations from the following list which will then make their way down to the refugee camp in Calais via the charity Calaid.  We will be taking stuff on Saturday 12th September so it is only up this week.

We need:

  • tents, tarpaulins
  • jackets
  • socks
  • blankets
  • sleeping bags
  • soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • woolly hats
  • pots and pans

We don’t need womens or kids clothes or other bedding.

THANK YOU

Hi, we have a quarter garage full of sleeping bags and tents which our oldest son picked up after BoomTown festival with the intention of taking them to the refugees. We’re away until Wednesday lunchtime this week but I’d love to add these into the collection as our earlier attempt to pass them onto Calais haven’t happened.

All in the garage at Lodwick, high street Monxton. Back on Wednesday, in Vancouver at the moment, I’ll be back in touch then. Or maybe I should get in touch directly with Calaid?
