Fete 2017Roll up, roll up for the best fête in Hampshire!

Come along to the Amport & Monxton Fête on Saturday 8th July 2017 on the village green, Amport, from 12noon until 4pm.

As usual, there will be masses of family-friendly fun and entertainment… food, drink, games. What’s not to love?

Come for lunch:

  • A barbeque from The Weyhill Farm Shop – with sizzling high-quality burgers and hotdogs for your enjoyment. 🍔 🌭🥙
  • The Focaccia Company with their wonderful vintage Citroen van, Herbert – serving sandwiches to feed the soul
  • The Good Inn-Tent 🍺- and debuting at the Fête is the brand new Amport Pale – a hoppy Pale Ale made with 100% Amarillo hops. Brewed especially for the day by your barman, Neil Warren. Other attractions for beer lovers from, Unity Brewing, Penton Park, Red Cat, and Bowmans, and our very own Test Valley Gin. The bar will also be serving vegetable samosas.
  • Tea Tent serving home-made teas and delicious cakes and bakes 🍩🍪🍭

  • Horticultural Show, Art Show & Great Village Bake-off – Horticultural Show Entry Form 2017
  • Test Valley Brass Band – in the arena at 12noon, 1.40pm and 3pm
  • Gundog Display from Mullenscote Gundogs at 12.30pm
  • Hawk Flying Display from the Hawk Conservancy at 1pm
  • Fête Sports Day at 2pm
  • Dog Show at 3.30pm
  • Punch & Judy Show

  • A variety of entertainment: teddy tombola, face-painting, tug o’ war, coconut shy, skittles, human fruit-machine, welly wanging, smack the rat etc etc
  • Spend some small change on the stalls: Accessories (for pre-loved belts, scarves, hats, bags, jewellery etc), Books, Bric-a-Brac etc (donations for these stalls most welcome)
  • Classic Car Show – come and admire the selection of interesting cars

Fete party 2017Supper on the Green

The fête will be followed by a Supper on the Green, a sociable event where you can meet and mingle with other villagers, have a tasty traditional hog roast supper (thanks to the Hog Shack), listen to excellent live music from Off The Cuff, and place your bids for the auction.  Wine and beer will be available from the bar.

Come to Amport Green at 7.30pm, settle down and listen to the music and enjoy some great food.


Supper Menu:

Fresh, mouth-watering hot pork, carved straight from the spit, with savoury stuffing, served in a soft, floured white roll, with a choice of traditional sweet apple sauce and tasty chutneys.

Halloumi kebabs with thyme and lemon

Potato Salad, Gree salad with French vinaigrette, Morrocan couscous

Followed by delicious home-made chocolate brownies with fresh strawberries

Accompanied by a selection of Berry Bros & Rudd wines, fine ales including the exclusive Amport Pale from the Good Inn-tent, and a pop-up bar from Test Valley Gin.


All chairs and tables have to be borrowed so we always hope we have enough. You can help ease the pressure by bringing your own chair if possible.

The number of tickets will be restricted so please be sure to buy yours NOW! There will be no tickets available on the door. Ticket prices and the bar tariff have been kept as low as possible at just £15 for adults and £8 for children 11 years and under – to encourage everyone to take part in this village social event.

The Auction

During the evening there will be an amazing auction, raising funds for our community. All are welcome to bid, even if you cannot come to the Supper. The auction is scheduled to start between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m.

The Auction Prizes:

  • A jeroboam of Whispering Angel rosé wine
    • This is the palest Provencal pink, with crunchy red fruit and a lift on the palate. 2016 was a near perfect vintage and this is the finest Whispering Angel to date. Magnificently moreish!
  • A family photo 
    • Anna Prideaux is a well known local photographer specialising in children and family portraits. Anna is offering a family photography shoot in her studio and your favourite photograph beautifully framed.
  • A 30 minute trial aerobatic flight
    • An aerobatic trial lesson in our Super Decathlon – pull a few G’s and turn your world upside down!
  • A summer week in Les Gets, French Alps
    • An 8 person chalet in Les Gets, France.     Amport and villages concert will take place at St Mary’s Amport on Saturday 18 March 2017 at 7.15pm. Please come along for a fun evening supporting our amazing local talent, enjoy refreshments with neighbours, and raise money for the Heating Fund to make the church usable for community events throughout the year.
