Well the lorries haven’t lessened apparently, despite it being rather quiet on the web reporting front. They seem to be travelling early in the morning or late at night, which is at least a little less disruptive for other road users, even if still a nuisance for residents. Please keep reporting…
The two lorries on Sunday were in convoy and were travelling WEST from Andover. Just missed getting their numbers but the second one was a Fowler and Welch who are known Co-Op offenders.
Pauline saw another two large lorries on Tuesday 20th August – again not enoiugh time to catch the numbers or names but one was she thinks WX 05 JRV(?) but the last letter could be wrong [vehicle going towards Andover and passed her near Cattle Lane – at approx 12:30]. The other – seen over our hedge – was at approx 10:30 travelling WEST. I think we are already over the quota for the month.
Of course the issue is not Co-Op lorries – although it helps that these get fined – but that any such vehilce should use the rat run through the village. Thus, if we are to present the totality of the problem, we need to track all large lorries not just Co-Op & Alpine related ones.
