More lorries

Well the lorries haven’t lessened apparently, despite it being rather quiet on the web reporting front. They seem to be travelling early in the morning or late at night, which is at least a little less disruptive for other road users, even if still a nuisance for residents. Please keep reporting…

These two lorries were spotted at 20.10 on Sunday 18th August passing the Black Swan - it looks like they were probably Co-op bound.

Bollard Styles

Below are the various bollard styles that are suitable for village conservation areas, along with the dimensions. Please vote for your favoured style. Voting closes on 6 August 2013.

All bollards are durable hardwood and harmonise well with natural environments. The Ashdown & Epping ranges of bollards are extremely strong and have a good fire resistance, and are made from strong hardwoods such as greenheart, wallabe or opepe. The Garrick bollards are made from oak. Although more choices were shown at the EGM, only the bollards that are between 800-1000mm high are shown, as this height was recommended for protection against HGVs.

In the dead of night

Report from a High Street resident
At 1.03am this morning (24 July) an HGV lorry was trying to squeeze past the Mucky Duck. Residents were woken by the commotion and several men looked like they were trying to move cars or find away through. The lorry had all hazard lights on …… Why was it here?

More lorries…

Slight delay in getting the information online – sorry.

Lorry at Sunnybank 19 July

Friday 19 July at 10.15pm
Reported by John Chaffey, Sunnybank
“A Nordstrom lorry drove right into Sunnybank and drove up towards the play area and then back up the close 2 or 3 times before turning and going back out, lights flashing and of course reversing beepers going.  It was massive –  juggernaut size.  Tried to get picture but it was too dark.  The new ‘No HGV’ sign is too small, in the wrong place and not illuminated at night.”

Damage to car on the high street – 6/7/13

Damage to a Land Rover discovery wing mirror - discovered on Saturday 6 July 2013. At this height it suggests the car was hit either by another 4x4 or a lorry. Sadly, no note was left admitting responsibility.
